Nostalgia Central can only continue to thrive and grow with
your contributions.
We welcome anything at all relating to the
1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.
We are especially interested in your personal memories of
those decades.
The only rule is to be evocative! Don't
regurgitate facts, dates and figures - it's the ESSENCE of the
era(s) we're after.
Any queries about contributions should be submitted using our
standard contact form which you will find

Content
Nostalgia Central attempts to cover subjects that are perhaps
under represented on the Internet. We encourage the submission
of articles on a specific theme, although we also welcome
well-written pieces on general decades and elements of that
decade.
Submission Guide
Nostalgia Central articles are usually based around opinion,
and generally attempt to evoke some aspect of the subject being
discussed.
We are not overly interested in the regurgitation of accepted
facts, figures and opinions. If a submission is based heavily on
the dissemination of facts, then it must be ensured that this
information is not already well documented elsewhere or well
known by the intended readership.
Readership
Our assumption is that Nostalgia Central readers are literate
and thoughtful, therefore allusions to items of nostalgia need
not be accompanied with a surfeit of explanation.
Our audience ranges in age from primary school students to
senior adults. The majority of our audience are English
speaking, and live in the USA, United Kingdom, Australia,
Canada, New Zealand and Western Europe.
Style
Use " for all quotation-marks. Any further quotations
within these should be denoted with apostrophes, thus '.
Titles should not appear within quotes (they will be
italicised upon publishing anyway), and the first letter of
every word contained within that title should be capitalised.
As a general rule, we use the British English spelling of
words. e.g. 'colour' NOT 'color' and 'recognise' NOT
'recognize'.
Word Count
There is no specific rule relating to the length of
submissions. Contributions generally range from a single
sentence to a maximum of around 1500 - 2000 words.
Format
Contributions should be submitted as a .txt attachment, as a
Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) or simply as inline text
within an e-mail. There is little point in sending articles
fully formatted (with italics, bold, colours etc) as all of this
will be lost in the conversion to HTML.
Editing
The majority of contributions are published on Nostalgia
Central with no real alterations made. However, if it is felt
that a submitted article would benefit from some changes,
details of these proposed alterations are sent to the author for
their comments.
Once the finished draft has been agreed on, and the author is
happy for it to go ahead, the article is then published.
Spelling and grammar corrections are made without consultation.
