The classic Cinderella story in form of a farce and with Jerry
Lewis in the leading role.
Fowler is a clumsy simpleton who has to care for his wicked
stepmother and her two stuck-up sons, Maximilian and Rupert. One
day a good spirit appears and helps him to win the heart of the
beautiful princess Charmant.
Jerry Lewis' musical entrance down the grand staircase was done
in one take - but his seven-second rush exit up those same 63
steps put too much strain on his heart and landed him in hospital.
