Harold and Maude (1971)
A free-spirited 79-year-old woman teaches a death-obsessed
20-year-old man a valuable lesson about the art of living. Bud
Cort plays the strange young man who pals around with Ruth
Gordon.
The two fall in love and she eventually commits suicide but
shows him how to live.
Weird as it is, this campy outing is done with style, wit, and
spirit, thanks to an inventive screenplay by Colin Higgins and Hal
Ashby's perceptive direction. Also with Vivian Pickles, Cyril
Cusack, Charles Tyner, and Ellen Geer.
