Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother

1 9 7 5 (USA)

The renowned detective's sibling becomes involved with foreign spies, Professor Moriarty and a damsel in distress. Gene Wilder (who surely apprenticed at the Mel Brooks school of comedy) wrote, directed, and stars in this spoof about the famous fictional sleuth.

This film isn't the clever, zany romp you might expect from a member of the Brooks family though. It is adolescent foolishness with only a smattering of true comic situations.

Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, and Dom DeLuise (all of the Brooks company) are on board for this slapstick workout, which is merely elementary.
