The Flamin' Groovies
Beginning life as a flower-power band in San Francisco
during the 'summer of love', The Groovies came to define the true
spirit of good time rock & roll and pop. Leader Cyril Jordan fed
his transient members a diet of British Beat and R&B blended with Byrds/Beau Brummels throughout the 70's, and the Shake Some Action album,
recorded under Dave Edmunds at Rockfield, was a unique and special
work.
You Tore Me Down shines like a polished diamond
with evocative Byrds-style acoustic guitar overlays and
Hollies-standard harmonies.
