Larry Williams
The late Larry Williams, though born in New Orleans, recorded in
Los Angeles for Art Rupe's Specialty label - the home
of Little Richard.
Spending a brief spell playing bass with
Fats Domino's band, Larry had moved to the West Coast when he cut
his biggest seller - Short Fat Fannie - and Bony
Maronie (which appeared on the B Side).
A decade later Williams recorded with Johnny 'Guitar' Watson
but never regained the magic of his early solo recordings.
