The Professionals
After John Lydon (nee Rotten) had formed PiL, the
remaining Sex Pistols, Steve Jones and Paul Cook, trundled
along with farcical "Sex Pistols" songs for The
Great Rock and Roll Swindle (giving them the opportunity, at
least, to work with Great Train Robber Ronnie Biggs), and then
formed The Professionals.
After
a fine debut single (1-2-3), things went tits-up at
striking speed, as Jones' heroin addiction became a priority.
By
the time of their second album, both song writing abilities and
impetus had vanished with a resultant drab set of songs with minor
chords, badly airbrushed vocals and lyrics that were just born to
date.
Anyone
wishing to hear ex-Pistols music with spunk should check out
a Rich Kids album.
