Ricochet Racers

Ricochet Racers were just cooler than cool - well, the bloody big gun you fired them out of was. Putting the cars into the cartridges, loading the gun with (I think) three cartridges, cocking that big plastic bolt, and then that
deeply satisfying banging sound of spring-loaded plastic hitting another bit of plastic as you fired.

Only problem was that about 50% of the time the empty cartridges didn't self-eject like they were supposed to, so you had to fish them out manually.

I think they had at least two types of Ricochet Racers - the first type had a mainly white gun with red trim, and the second had a black gun which featured glow-in-the-dark decals and fired glow-in-the-dark cars.

I can even vaguely remember the song from the advert, and with any luck, there's a working set hiding in my parents' loft.
