William (Cannon) Conrad starred as J.L. 'Fatman' McCabe, a former Hawaiian cop turned District Attorney in Honolulu, who often teamed up with private detective Jake Styles to crack his cases.

The Fatman's constant companion was his pet bulldog, Max.

William Conrad died of a heart attack in 1994.
