This British police drama series was created by the prolific Ian Kennedy Martin, and revolved around a female police Inspector called Jean D'Arblay (whose radio call sign was "Juliet Bravo").

Jean created waves when she took over a small town police station in Hartley, Lancashire (The series was actually filmed in the town of Bacup at the eastern end of the Rossendale Valley).

After three seasons D'Arblay was promoted and replaced by Kate Longton (Anna Carteret).
