This suspenseful (some would say "weird") crime series from Granada was created by Eddie Boyd and starred Edwin Richfield, Sarah Lawson, Christopher Guinee, Moultrie Kelsall, and Keith Barron as Detective Sergeant Swift.

The second series also starred William Mervyn as posh boss, Chief Inspector Rose and the series acquired something approaching cult status. Two other hit shows followed for the Inspector - It's Dark Outside and Mr Rose.
