Baggy Pants and The Nitwits
Baggy Pants was a cartoon cat based on Charlie Chaplin. Like
The Pink Panther, Baggy Pants was presented in silent
pantomime.
The Nitwits appeared in a separate section of the show, and
were based on characters from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In.
The voices were supplied by Laugh-In regulars Ruth Buzzi
and Arte Johnson as retired superhero Tyrone (Johnson) and his
long-suffering wife Gladys (Buzzi). Together the pair went into
action to fight unspeakable foes (a woman in a chicken suit, a
moving blob of water etc).
